Profile and security

Account > Profile is where you manage your own details rather than your organisation’s. What you set here follows you across every organisation and brand you belong to.

The card at the top shows your name, your role and the email you sign in with. Edit Profile opens a dialog where you change your name, email and phone number.

Personal Details below it lists the same information along with the date you joined.

Preferences holds two settings. Language changes the language used across the interface. Theme is light, dark, or matching your device. Pick them and click Save. Both are saved to your account, so they follow you to any device you sign in on.

In the Security card, click Change Password, enter your current password, then the new one twice, and save. Passwords need at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number. A longer passphrase that mixes those in is the easiest way to be both secure and memorable.

Changing your password signs out every other session on every device. That is the quickest thing to do if you think someone else has been in your account. If the problem looks wider than your own account, tell your Tenant Admin, who can suspend accounts and check the audit log.

Two-factor authentication adds a second check at sign-in: a six-digit code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password.

  1. Find Two-Factor Authentication in the Security card and click Enable.
  2. Confirm it is you. Enter your password, or, if your account signs in with an email code and has no password, click Email me a code and enter the code we send.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or use Can’t scan? Enter this key manually and type the key in.
  4. Enter the six-digit code from the app and click Verify & Enable.

To turn it off, click Disable in the same place and confirm it is you the same way, with your password or an emailed code. An authenticator code is not what disabling asks for.

Your organisation can require two-factor authentication for everyone. If it does and you have not set it up, the web app asks you to at your next sign-in, and the mobile app refuses to let you in until you have done it here. See Security policies.

The Away card at the bottom of the page is the same time off an engineer sets from their phone. Add a first and last day, or exact times, with All day on or off, and click Add away time.

While you are away you show as unavailable for scheduling everywhere you work, which matters if you are a contractor working for more than one organisation. Your organisation’s own record of when someone is unavailable is separate and set from the resource. See Availability and location.

Settings > Delete Account removes your WorkWing account. Read the warning, enter your password to confirm, and click Delete my account.

  • You are signed out immediately.
  • Your data is kept for 30 days.
  • You can cancel during those 30 days using the link in the confirmation email we send you.
  • After 30 days, your account data is permanently anonymised.

Deleting your account ends your access to every brand and every organisation you belong to. If you are the only Tenant Admin in one of them, WorkWing refuses the request and tells you so: give someone else that role first, then come back. See Team members.
