Signing up and logging in
Signing up creates your organisation and makes you its first admin. If someone has already set WorkWing up for your company, skip to joining an organisation.
Creating your organisation
Section titled “Creating your organisation”Start from the Sign up link on workwing.io, or go straight to auth.workwing.io/auth/signup. The bar at the top of the form shows which of the four steps you’re on.
- Account. Your full name, work email and a password, entered twice. Passwords need at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number.
- Company. Your company name and your workspace URL. WorkWing suggests a URL from the company name and you can edit it: 3 to 63 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. It becomes your address,
yourcompany.workwing.app. - Business. Your industry, team size and how you schedule today. This step is optional. Skip for now if you’d rather.
- Confirm. WorkWing emails you a verification link. Click it and you can log in.
Your organisation starts with one brand named after your company, and you hold the Tenant Admin role, which can do everything. You can rename the organisation later under Settings > Organisation profile. The workspace URL can be changed there for 24 hours after sign-up, then it’s fixed.
Logging in
Section titled “Logging in”Open your workspace address, or use the Log in link on workwing.io. Enter your work email and click Continue. What comes next depends on how your account signs in.
- Password. Enter it.
- Email code. WorkWing emails you a six-digit code. Enter it. Your organisation’s admin decides whether email codes are available; see Authentication and SSO.
- Both. You’re asked which you’d like to use.
- Single sign-on. If your organisation uses SSO, you’ll see a Sign in with button for it. When SSO is enforced, that’s the only option offered.
If two-factor authentication is on for your account, you’re asked for the six-digit code from your authenticator app after your password. If you belong to more than one organisation, you choose which workspace to open.
Forgot your password?
Section titled “Forgot your password?”Click Forgot password? on the login page, enter your email, and follow the link in the email to set a new one. The link works once and expires, so request another if it has.
Two-factor authentication
Section titled “Two-factor authentication”Two-factor authentication adds a second check at login: the six-digit code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password.
To set it up, open Account > Profile and find Two-Factor Authentication in the Security section.
- Click Enable and confirm your password.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the key it shows you by hand.
- Enter the code from the app and click Verify & Enable.
To turn it off, click Disable in the same place and confirm.
Your organisation can require two-factor authentication for everyone. If it does and you haven’t set it up, the web app asks you to at your next login, and the mobile app won’t let you in until you’ve done it on the web.
Joining an organisation you’ve been invited to
Section titled “Joining an organisation you’ve been invited to”When someone invites you to their organisation, you get an email with a link. Open it.
- If you’re already logged in with that email, click Accept.
- If not, enter your email and WorkWing sends you a six-digit code. Enter it and you’re in.
Contractors invited as external workers join the same way. External workers explains what they can see.
Your role decides what you can do once you’re in. If you need more access, ask your admin.
What’s next
Section titled “What’s next”The dashboard is the first thing you see after logging in.
