Editing a job
Open a job and click Edit. The page shows the same fields as the job itself, this time editable, with Save and Cancel in the top right.
You can change the title, priority, job type, site, notes, the answers to the job type’s questions, any custom fields, the schedule and the status. Attachments have their own section: Upload File adds one, and each row’s menu downloads or deletes it. Files can be up to 10MB, and WorkWing accepts images, PDFs, Word documents and spreadsheets.
Changing the status
Section titled “Changing the status”The Status field lists every status WorkWing has, but only some of them are a legal move from where the job is now. Pick one that isn’t and the save is refused. Statuses and workflow has the map, and the dispatch console offers named buttons instead, which is usually the easier way.
Moving a job to On Hold, Incomplete, Rebook or Failed needs a reason. Save without one and WorkWing asks for it.
Adding and removing people
Section titled “Adding and removing people”Assigned Resources sits below the form. Add Resource opens the picker; the menu on a row removes someone, after a confirmation. Both take effect straight away rather than waiting for Save. See Assigning resources.
Locking the schedule
Section titled “Locking the schedule”A manager can pin a job’s time so the people booking work can’t move it. The Lock Schedule switch is at the top of the edit page.
Once it’s locked, anyone without the permission sees a notice explaining they can’t reschedule it and should speak to a manager. Managers can still change the time and turn the lock off again.
Turning the lock on or off, and rescheduling a locked job, needs the Operations Manager, Brand Administrator or Tenant Admin role.
Editing a closed job
Section titled “Editing a closed job”Once a job is completed, cancelled or failed it’s locked, and the page says so. Most fields stay as they are so the record of what happened holds.
A Tenant Admin can override that: WorkWing applies the override for them as they save, so there’s no separate button to press. Any other role needs the override permission granted through a custom role. See Roles and permissions.
Re-opening a closed job is a bigger step than editing it. Re-open on the job page puts it back to pending and clears the schedule, the crew and any schedule lock from the closed attempt, so the dialog offers you a new time and crew to set at the same time.
When someone else is editing too
Section titled “When someone else is editing too”If another person saves the job while you have it open, a banner appears at once. Reload fetches their version and loses your unsaved changes; dismissing it lets you carry on, and your save will then overwrite theirs.
