Customer details
The customer page is where you check what you’ve done for someone before you promise them anything else. Open it by clicking a customer in the list, or from the customer’s name on any job.
The header
Section titled “The header”The top of the page carries the name, whether they’re a Person or an Organization, the brand they belong to, and the date they became a customer. Their email and phone sit underneath, and clicking either copies it.
Two pills say whether they’ve opted in to email and to text messages. If one says opted out, WorkWing will not contact them that way, however the job is set up.
Three counts follow: total jobs, active jobs and locations on file. New job starts a job with this customer already filled in, Email opens your mail app and Call dials the number.
On the right you get a small map of the primary site with an Open button that hands the coordinates to Google Maps. If the customer has addresses but nothing WorkWing could find on the map, the card offers Set location instead and takes you to the Locations tab.
The tabs
Section titled “The tabs”Customer Details is the record itself, laid out the way your brand’s customer layout says: contact details, address, notes and any custom fields you track. The Attachments panel at the bottom is covered in Attachments.
Jobs lists this customer’s jobs, newest first. Each row shows the job number, the first line of the notes, when it’s scheduled and its priority and status. The coloured stripe down the left is the priority. Click a row to open the job.
Locations is the customer’s sites. See Managing locations.
Recurring Jobs lists the repeating schedules running for this customer. Each one can be paused, resumed or cancelled from its row. To set a new one up, start from the job it repeats. See Recurring jobs.
Notes & Activity is free text your team writes about the customer, oldest at the top, each with who wrote it and how long ago. The box at the bottom adds one, and Ctrl+Enter posts it. Good for the things that never fit a field: who to ask for on site, which gate is unlocked, why they left last time.
Observations appears only when your engineers have reported something against this customer, and shows what came of each report.
Editing
Section titled “Editing”Edit in the top right opens the same form you filled in to create the record, with one extra section. Communication Preferences holds three switches:
- Email notifications, whether they get job updates and confirmations by email.
- SMS notifications, whether they get them by text.
- Service notifications, whether they’re told when someone is on the way.
Customer Type is greyed out on the edit form. It’s set when the record is created and stays put.
You need the Operator, Operations Manager, Brand Administrator or Tenant Admin role to edit a customer or to add a note.
Deleting
Section titled “Deleting”Delete sits next to Edit and asks you to confirm.
A customer who has any job on file cannot be deleted, and the message tells you so. That’s deliberate: deleting them would take the job history with them. Deleting a customer who has no jobs also removes their locations and their attached files.
