Customers overview
A customer is the person or business you do the work for. Their record holds the contact details, the site addresses and every job you’ve ever done for them, so picking the customer on a job pulls all of that along with it.
Customers in the top navigation opens the list. If your brand calls them clients or accounts, that’s the word you’ll see instead, and this page still describes the same screen. See Terminology.
The list
Section titled “The list”Five counts run across the top: Total, Organizations, People, Active Jobs and New This Month. They cover the brands you can see, so they move when you change the brand filter. They count the brand rather than the list below them, so they stay put while you search.
Search matches a name, an email address, a phone number or a town, across every customer you can see rather than the page you happen to be on. The chips beside it narrow the list to Organizations, People, Has Jobs or No Jobs, and All clears them. What you searched for is in the address bar, so a reload puts you back on the same list and you can send someone the link.
The list is a table. It shows the name, whether they’re a Person or an Organization, the email and phone, the town, the address, how many jobs they have with how many of those still open, and when the last one was. Next to that comes a column for each custom field you’ve set up for customers, and a Brand column when you’re looking at more than one brand. A green dot next to the email or the phone means they’ve opted in to being contacted that way. The column picker hides the ones you don’t need and remembers what you chose.
Click the Name, the email, the phone or the town heading to sort by it, and again to reverse it. Sorting runs over every customer, not just the page in front of you.
If you run more than one brand, All Brands at the top right narrows everything on the page to a single one.
Click a customer’s name to open them.
Who can do what
Section titled “Who can do what”Operators, Operations Managers, Brand Administrators and Tenant Admins can create, view, edit and delete customers in the brands they have access to. Someone with the Resource role can see a customer’s details from a job assigned to them, but they don’t get the Customers section at all.
What’s next
